Hmm, maybe that means money matters after all :) They just don't want to admit it. Rich people are responsible for almost every good thing that happens in a given society (the charities, employment, building buildings, etc) - so when you take away their incentive to operate within an economy, they move to another one more accomodating. Add "The Rise and Fall of the Great Powers" to your Amazon wishlist.
